NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Compton has prepared its draft FiveYear Consolidated Plan (2020-2024) and OneYear Action Plan (2020-2021). The publication of this notice is the beginning of the 30-day public review period required under Federal Regulations at 24 CFR 91.105. The public review and written comment period begins April 8, 2020 and runs through May 12, 2020.

NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that the FiveYear Consolidated Plan and Oneyear Action Plan will be presented to the City Council for approval on the following date:

At this meeting, the City Council will receive public comment on the draft FiveYear Consolidated Plan (2020-2024) and OneYear Action Plan (2020-2021) that will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

BACKGROUND
The FiveYear Consolidated Plan is part of the City’s grant application to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The plan establishes a framework of housing, community and economic development priorities for Compton’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) and Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) programs over the next five years. The Oneyear Action Plan then allocates funding to specific programs and projects for a given year. The Action Plan will appropriate CDBG, HOME, and ESG funds to specific programs and projects for the 2020-2021 fiscal year. The City anticipates receiving approximately $9.5 million in federal housing and community development funds over the next 5 years to implement programs and projects that benefit low- and moderateincome residents.

PUBLIC COMMENT
Copies of the latest drafts of these documents will be available for public review and comment on the City’s website at www.comptoncity.org.The public is invited to submit their comments on the housing, community and economic development needs of the City, proposed programs and projects to address those needs through the City’s website or by mail. All comments relative to the draft documents mentioned above should be submitted to the City of Compton Grants Division no later than 5:00 p.m. May 12, 2020.

Questions and written comments regarding the draft FiveYear Consolidated Plan and OneYear Action Plan may be addressed to the Grants Division with the City of Compton at 205 S.
