With 100% of precinct votes and received mail ballots counted, incumbent Compton Councilwoman Janna Zurita appears headed for a decisive defeat, while fellow incumbent Emma Sharif is in command of her race. The results are semi official.

Challenger Michelle Chambers has garnered nearly two-thirds of the District 1 votes, flipping the table on the April primary election. Likewise, Sharif has reversed the primary outcome for District 4, leading challenger Justin A. Blakely with 53.75% of the vote, a difference of 97 votes.

In the special election to complete the unexpired term for the 33rd State Senate seat, Long Beach Councilwoman Lena Gonzalez appears to have handily defeated Cudahy Councilman Jack M. Guerrero, garnering 69% of the vote. The district includes Long Beach and Lynwood. The special election was prompted by Ricardo Lara's election as state insurance commissioner.
