LOS ANGELES—More than 1.25 million people passed through the turnstiles at this year's Los Angeles County Fair, a 5 percent uptick from last year, fair officials announced Monday.

The fair wrapped up its 19-day run on Sunday. Officials said attendance on opening weekend doubled from the previous year, helping to boost the overall attendance numbers.

As usual, fairgoers collectively downed a wide array of food. Fair officials said vendors served up 8,000 pounds of hot dogs, 2,500 pounds of pork belly, 1,200 pounds of chicken wings, 4,500 pounds of pecan-smoked sausage, 110,000 slices of pepperoni and 3,600 pounds of pizza dough.

Fairgoers also donated 73,818 cans of nonperishable food and 53,489 school supply items.
